Immediately following installation, most vibration pads adequately absorb machine vibration. Eventually time, moisture, grease, oil, solvents and water take their toll as ordinary pads breakdown, losing their effectiveness and deteriorating to the point where replacement becomes necessary. This deterioration takes anywhere from a week to several months, costing you time and money in parts replacement and downtime of your equipment. The LP-13 Shake Absorber® has been tested and resists all of these elements.
COMPOSITION
The properties which set the LP-13 Shake Absorber® apart from ordinary vibration pads consists of a nylon filler between two layers of very tough but flexible neoprene, our special formula made for this particular application. The cushion serves to dampen machine vibration while the nylon filler absorbs violent shocks and evenly distributes the weight of the machine.
SHORE DUROMETER
Shore Durometer is the international standard for the hardness measurement of rubber, plastic and other non-metallic materials. Durometers are described in the American Society for Testing and Material specification ASTM D2240, which is the recognized specification for the instrument and testing procedures.
There are a number of brands of durometers, all of which must conform to the same ASTM specifications if they are to be known as genuine durometers. Sometimes a Durometer Scale may be referred to by its’ brand name. The “A” scale is the Durometer A scale (or type A) and all brands will, or should, give interchangeable readings.
At Kellett Enterprises, we have pads in 2 durometer scales. • The LP-13/70 has a shore durometer of 70 – 95 +/-. This pad is used for heavy equipment such as weaving machines, granulators, hydraulic presses, etc. • The newest addition to our product line, the LP-13/50 has a shore durometer of 45 – 60 +/-. This product, being more pliable, is better suited for equipment such as air conditioners both, residential and commercial, generators, computer equipment, etc.
The weight of the equipment, and shore durometer will direct us towards the proper pad for your application.
